Found the "personal cause widget" on sue's blog on transliteracy. After hearing Sue and Jess at several occasions talking about transliteracy and what it might mean, I’m getting more and more interesting doing some research on similar subjects/phenomena.
I wonder, Sue, how the concept transliteracy corresponds with (is relaying on???) a definition of literacy suitable for communication in new media, that is “Literacy as the ability to read and write between/across different semiotic systems and through different modalities”. Is a definition like this a part of an media literacy, or is it an addition?
Is the relation between “transliteracy” and a wide-defined/extended definition of “literacy” similar to “multimedia” and “multimodality”?
